Here's some good news. $335M in financing secured for businesses, communities, and ecosystems to grow together: everyone should know about this model being built by an organization called Coast Funds.
It's good business, but it's also something much bigger. It's an alternative to the extractive model of growth we're often taught is our only choice.
The Coast Funds (operating in the region also known as Canada) just published their annual report for 2024, with a great 4 minute video overview I highly recommend. It's a long term green finance campaign. In business terms it will:
* Grow revenue through income diversification and capital attraction
* Reduce costs through economies of scale from pooled finance and cost sharing
* Reduce risk through long-term funding commitments and ecological resilience to foster economic stability
But there's a whole lot more going on here than that. If those terms are your primary frame of reference, I invite you to keep one foot there - and step with your other foot into a different frame of reference you'll see in watching this short video.
And now, our daily summaries of nearly 200 selected updates from around the world of green tech and sustainability.
