(Almost) Everyone wants to decarbonize the economy, but there are bottlenecks.

Including in the continent where a huge amount of the world's next economic growth is likely to happen: Africa. Woochong Um (left) is a man focused on resolving those bottlenecks to decarbonization.

I'm inspired by this story because it's about a campaign to:

- identify and loosen system bottlenecks

- by investing in data analysis capabilities

- in order to catalyze investment in transformation toward a more sustainable world.

Specifically, they will fund capacity building in African banks, in order to catalyze funding of sustainable energy projects large and small - including mini-grids, solar home systems, and grid upgrades.

What skills will be strengthened by this new investment plan?

* Portfolio screening

* Diligence capabilities

* and support the analysis of portfolio emissions.

These are the kinds of skills that need to be bolstered around the world in order to effectively transition to a more sustainable economy. May we all be inspired by this campaign in our respective projects.

And now we offer you the best updates from around the green tech and sustainability world today. May they help grow your capacity! Email subscribers get 3 just for you.
