While not a panacea, electric vehicles are important. California says it's hit an important milestone in the transition to EVs:
178,549 public/shared EV chargers are now available statewide – 48% more than the 120,000 gas nozzles. 26% of cars sold in California were plug-in hybrids or battery EVs. That will be legally required to be 100% by 2035.
"The California EV driver experience is getting better by the day," California Energy Commission Chair David Hochschild says. "The state will continue to heavily invest in EV infrastructure, with particular emphasis in hard-to-reach areas, making these vehicles an easy choice for new car buyers."
